Horse & Human Physical Therapy: Initial Evaluation
Intake, Physical Examination, Plan of care
Because I take a whole horse and whole human approach to care you’ll be filling out comprehensive intake forms so I can best understand your current situation (or your horse’s situation) and all of the variables that are impacting your health and wellbeing. Please set aside time to thoughtfully and intentionally complete these forms. The more detail you provide, the more accelerated the process will be. Get ready to get personal! I’ll carefully review your intake paperwork before the in person initial evaluation. We’ll review all of the important details before moving on to the hands on examination.
Next we will dive in to a comprehensive physical examination. The most commonly feedback I get from clients after this appointment is: “I’ve never/my horse has never had such an in depth physical exam!” You should leave this appointment feeling a sense of clarity about what is going on with your body/your horse’s body and how we are going to address what’s ailing you/your horse.
Based on the complexity of your situation, I will make recommendations about what frequency/duration/type of visits will be most effective and supportive. Most care plans follow my ‘5 Phases of Care’ model. Together, we will make a plan that works toward your goals while also honoring your resources (time, finances, energy, etc.).
Human evaluations take place in my mobile clinic space. Horse evaluations may take place at your boarding facility and require coordination with your veterinarian.
Initial Evaluation's typically last between 60-120 minutes.
Value: $300

Communication & Accountability
We will be in regular communication about how you are feeling and progressing.
I may be the expert of my profession but YOU are the expert of your body—so communication is a key part of what makes this therapeutic alliance effective!
Life can get busy and hectic and sometimes it’s hard to prioritize yourself. Part of the benefit of investing in a package of sessions is the accountability factor. I have a variety of ways to support you in staying motivated and keeping momentum throughout this process.
Rider Biomechanics Evaluation
Find Equilibrium in Your Position to Create Fluidity in your Ride
Do you struggle with your riding position? Do you always lose one stirrup but not the other? Are you always heavy on one rein but no matter how many times your trainer points it out, you just can’t adjust? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this is the right place to start! This mounted evaluation is an individualized deep dive to get to the bottom of what’s impacting your position, and likely your horse’s movement as a result.
In this session, you’ll wear a light weight mesh jacket with high visibility lines that make your posture and position more visually obvious. I’ll watch (and may video) you and your horse move together. I’ll use a variety of verbal cues and proprioceptive tools to help you gain a more balanced position and allow your horse to move more freely. Many riders are surprised by how small improvements in their position have profoundly noticeable effects on their horse’s way of going, which usually makes these sessions a lot of fun! If your session illuminates that you may have some limitations that would benefit from further hands on evaluation, you’ll receive 20% off of your follow up clinical evaluation.
Your initial evaluation will typically last between 45-60 minutes.
Value: $300, plus 20% off a follow up clinical evaluation

Equine Consultation
Health Advocacy and Education
If you’ve ever been through an injury or health crisis with your horse, you know how overwhelming things can get. There can be multiple providers involved, trainers, friends, google, etc. Sometimes we receive conflicting information, and sometimes people go so far as to make us feel bad about our choices when really, we’re all doing our best with what we know! I offer consultations to assist you in navigating this exact scenario.
You can think of me as an equine health advocate and liaison . Simply put, my goal with these consultations is to help you help your horse. I’ll do everything I can to bring clarity to the current situation, provide you with any education you may need, make any recommendations about additional support that may benefit your horse, and assist in communicating/collaborating with other equine professionals to ensure your horse’s needs are being met. These appointments are not meant to cut out other providers, but rather to help you get the birds eye view on all of the input you’ve received and work through the options in front of you with as much clarity and understanding as possible.
Often, people come to me for these consultations when their horse has had hoof/farrier issues, recurring or ongoing lamenesses that have not responded well to conventional medical care, assistance with coordinating care for horses with metabolic dysfunction, post surgical rehabilitation, amongst others reasons.
A consultation will involve you filling out in depth paperwork regarding your horse’s health, and forwarding all relevant medical records/imaging. Then we will meet in person or remotely.
Consultations typically last between 60-90 minutes.
Value: $300, plus 20% off a follow up clinical evaluation

Programming/Return to Sport Coaching
Horse | Rider Biomechanics | Hoof Health
Is your horse currently overcoming an injury? Or recently back in work after a period off due to lameness? Maybe they’ve even had a surgery and now you’ve been given the green light to get back to work. But where do you start? Bringing a horse back in to work after an injury or surgery is a crucial time to ensure that their management is truly dialed in so that re-injuy is avoided at all costs. Having a rehabilitation program in place creates a structure and safe guards to ensure that this process goes smoothly while minimizing any set backs.
I build customized rehabilitation plans so that you can help your horse health as effectively and efficiently as possible. The focus of the rehab plan will be individualized to address your horse’s personal circumstances. These plans are laid out on a calendar with details and instructions that are linked to photos and videos to ensure you can confidently implement everything you need to.
I may even guide you in the safe use of a variety of hands on therapeutic modalities and interventions that you can safely administer to your horse. We’ll build a length of program that meets your horse’s needs and discuss scheduling check-in appointments (in person or virtual) to ensure you’re on the right path and things are moving forward as planned.
Programs are typically designed for 1-3 month cycles

Clinics
Horse | Rider Biomechanics | Hoof Health
I enjoy helping people and horses through clinics where we can explore a variety of topics relating to human and horse health! Because I have a mobile clinic space, I can bring my office on the road to your facility.
Clinic topics range from physical therapy services, to rider biomechanics, to hoof anatomy and trimming clinics with cadavers!
Size and length of clinics is flexible to meet the needs of your group.
Clinics typically last 1-3 days
$300/day

Rehabilitative Hoof Care & Composite Shoeing
From the Ground Up
I regularly will be called out to a horse for physical therapy services only to discover that the horse’s feet are grossly imbalanced. Unfortunately, no amount of body work can keep you ahead of unhealthy feet. Which is why I became a hoof care provider as part of my business model.
While I previously offered routine trimming and shoeing services, I am currently only offering a very limited amount of rehabilitative hoof care to select clients with more exceptional need. In order to be considered for hoof care services, I require a remote or in person consultation. Because positive hoof care results for complex cases require a team approach, I will also need the contact information of your veterinarian.
I require that new clients commit to a 4-5 week trimming/shoeing cycle and agree to 4-6 months of care depending on the severity and complexity of the case. 50% of the estimated cost of care will be collected at the start of service. Terms of this agreement are outlined in detail in paperwork that you will be able to review.
$250/hour plus cost of supplies and travel
